Building Justice in DC – Support the Fund in 2012!

Dear Friend of the Fund,

What a remarkable and uplifting year it has been for the Diverse City Fund!  We reached out, organized, shaped the Fund, got to know and trust one another, and raised enough money for a round of grants totalling $45,000.  Last month we got together and celebrated our first grants to 23 groups working in communities of color in Washington DC; groups like the Norwood Coop, which is planning to purchase interpretation equipment to expand its tenant education series; and the Friends & Families of Incarcerated People, an all-volunteer group started by former prisoners which prioritizes work with young DC residents.

In the coming three months we hope to raise an additional $40,000 to move towards our goal of two grant rounds of $50,000 each in 2012.  Think of all the powerful social change organizing we can directly support if we achieve this goal!

If you have donated to the Fund in the past we thank you very much. Would you now consider a special gift to help us invest in a just future for Washington DC?  Just send a check made out to “DC Fund” to ECAC (733 Euclid St. NW 20001) or go to to make an on-line donation.  On our website you can elect to become a sustainer (monthly or quarterly) and learn more about the Fund.  If you have any questions about giving please call us at 202-709-7038.

If you share our vision to transform DC into a more just, vibrant place to live, this is a great moment to grow and sustain the Diverse City Fund for future support of community leaders and grassroots projects.  We simply cannot make this happen without the support of people like you!

All our best,

The Diverse City Fund Board of Instigators
