In March, Diverse City Fund disbursed $154,000 to DC-based organizations on the frontlines of responding to the emerging public health crisis. Now, we are now committing an additional $185,000 to the ongoing response efforts. We recognize that the crisis brought on by COVID-19 is far from over and the impacts continue to be felt across the city, especially in communities of color.
Who is eligible*? Any current and past Diverse City Fund grantees from any year. See a full list of grantees here. Organizations that received a COVID-19 Rapid Response grant earlier this year are eligible to reapply.
If you are not a past grantee, please stay tuned for our regular fall round launching in mid-September.
*Receiving a rapid response grant has no effect on an organization’s eligibility for the regular spring or fall grant rounds.
What are we funding? Any programmatic work that has emerged, evolved, or escalated as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes racial/social justice, organizing, and community work in addition to any emergent direct service needs and mutual aid.
How big are the grants? Organizations can apply for up to $5,000 to support COVID-19 response work.
How does the application process work? Groups or organizations that are eligible should apply using the link below. Requests will be reviewed on a rolling basis. You should hear updates on your request within two weeks of submission. You may be asked to schedule a phone call with our team to follow-up on your request.
